The Psalms of Ascent (Psalms 120-134) are a collection of Psalms sung by those who journeyed to Jerusalem for annual religious feasts. They are also known as the Pilgrim Songs of the Old Testament. They were written by David, Solomon and anonymous folks. While each is uniquely its own, and can be read or sung independently, as a group they tell the story of a unique spiritual journey and detail the relationship between worshipper and the one they worship.
September Schaeffer will lead our discussion. She was born and raised right here in the area, and has journeyed far and wide. Her passion is sharing God’s story with others, and helping us see ourselves in the stories and lives found in Scripture. She lives in Cherry Valley with her husband, “Dr.” Paul and their cat Borris. She works at Cherry Valley Springfield Central School as a secondary SPED LTA, and has recently finished her master’s degree to teach high school history.
