Please join in an online Ash Wednesday Service, on February 17, 2021 from 6:00 – 6:40 p.m. Kieran Andrews and Katie Boardman will welcome you to the Zoom site beginning at 5:50 p.m. We will participate in a service designed by Rev. Sarah Are of A Sanctified Art LLC.
“Again & Again We’re Invited In” is a quiet service of music, Scripture, poetry, videos, readings and reflection with writing and informal coloring opportunities for adults, teens, tweens and younger folks.
Since we will only be together online with a few of us in the Chapel, we encourage you to make a simple sacred space at your viewing location that is safely near your computer, tablet, or phone screen. Light a candle. Dim a few lights. Bring a cup of tea ( or other beverage) and find a comfortable place to sit while viewing, listening and responding.
You will need a candle and lighter, a pen or pencil, a printed copy of the attached Ash Wednesday doodle page, click here to download, and perhaps some colored pencils or crayons if you would like to add color to the doodle page. Be sure that each person in your group has a doodle page and writing or coloring tools. (You may print out the attached version. Or take some printed versions from at First Presbyterian Chapel and Sanctuary before and after worship on February 14 or from the Church House middle room Monday through Wednesday.) Be sure that your computer audio is adjusted so that you may easily hear the readers and the music, some with which you might join by humming or singing.
After the Closing Prayer and Benediction we will stay online for another ten minutes or so to host an informal online fellowship time for those who would like to visit a bit. If you do not have computer access to Zoom and would like to join Katie in the Chapel for the service projected on the screen, please let Katie or Betty Baxter know before Wednesday morning.
Join us in beginning Lent together by logging on with your computer/table or phone. Watch your email for the log in information, or contact Katie Boardman or Betty Baxter for information.
